Central is very excited and proud to showcase one of the most prestigious wood framing projects in the company’s history. In May 2008 Central teamed up with Stock Building Supply to frame this project for Delphi Construction. Designed by EGA Architects of Newburyport, “The Groves” is Lincoln’s newest Assisted Living Community. The project consists of the Congregate Building, the Rental Building and 19 Cottages. The jobs focal point is the Congregate Building. This structure is a combination of 65,854 sq. ft of steel framing and 192,872 sq. ft. of wood framing. Central’s scope of work consists of the following installations window, wood framing, doors/hardware, siding, trim and roofing. The Congregate Building is comprised of 100 units; each about 1,270 sq. ft. The building also houses a commercial kitchen, an indoor pool, a Barber Shop, Day Spa and fitness center.
The Rental building is a small 3 story structure that will consist of 30 rental units. This building is all wood framing and should be a nice challenge for Central to complete in a speedy manner.
Last but certainly not least are the 19 Cottages which will be built in two separate stages. These structures are also 100% wood framed. Phase I consists of eleven cottages, and Phase II consists of eight cottage. They are thoughtfully placed throughout the landscape of the site. Each Cottage is made up of either 2 or 4 conjoined three level Condominium Units which come with an attached one car garage.
Central worked
through a couple of challenges at the beginning of the project with unforeseen conditions
and rain delays but now the job is back on track with the help of Central’s
team including Senior Project Manager Mike Casey, Project Manager Derek
Chaffee, General Foreman John Murphy, Foreman Chris Witowski and Leroy Boucher,
Site Safety Representative David Russell and a great team of carpenters. On
board with Central are Stock Building Supply’s Boston Area Sales Manager Lenny
Saltmarsh and Outside Sales Manager Frank Krueger. Central and Stock Building Supply are
working with General Contractor Delphi; whose team players are Senior Project
Manager Doug Hampson, Project Manager Larry McHugh, Senior Construction Manager
Joe Mastromatteo and Site superintendent Mark Leonardi along with their field
team. With these great teams working
together, this project will be a success.
